Construction costs fall for the first time in two years

The MITMA construction cost index for June 22 presents its first correction in the last 23 months, thanks to the drop in the price of steel. Despite this small correction, the price of construction materials rose more year-on-year than inflation (13.3% vs. 10.2%). Let us hope that once the problems in the supply chains caused by the pandemic and the war in Ukraine are corrected, the index can continue to soften its trend and end the year in line with the general CPI.
